Summary: I have been a part of Canada’s leading commercial real estate financing team since 2014, originating over $200 million in commercial mortgages. First National Financial is Canada's largest non-bank lender, originating, underwriting and servicing both residential and commercial mortgages. As the leading lender of CMHC and conventional mortgages, First National currently has approximately $115 billion in mortgages under administration. Always partial to numbers and data, I began my career at First National on the credit side, identifying the best course forward for clients with the minimum amount of risk. My transition into origination allowed me to tap my affability and open communication style, while adding the value of my numbers sense. I approach client relationships with a combination of pragmatism and commitment to connection. To me, being an advisor means quick response, promptness, attentiveness and coming through no matter what. But it also means having the humility to recognize what we can and can’t do and then communicating that transparently. I rely a lot on discovery to understand what’s at the core of every borrower – objectives, specialty expertise, obstacles and fears.
