Background

About David Tiedemann

Currently, I work as the HE Access Lead at Ark, a multi-academy trust with 39 schools across London, Birmingham, and the South Coast. Before starting at Ark, I managed university admissions and sixth form administration at a comprehensive school in Wembley. I hold a PhD in history from UCL, and taught at that university and at Queen Mary, University of London. I have extensive experience working in both secondary and tertiary education, as well as strong research skills from my doctorate. In my current role I work directly with schools and students to ensure the best possible higher education outcomes. The role involves working with schools to improve their systems and advice around HE, working directly with students across secondary to inform them about HE options and create successful applications. I also work with university partners to enable students in the trust, from primary to sixth form, to engage with higher education.
