About David Tomas

My motivation is to identify, develop and implement practical solutions to improve for food safety and quality.* For more than 25 years I worked on research and development with a very strong focus to provide on time technical solutions for food industry. I built a team of twenty experts, leading a state of the art laboratory implementing methods and technologies for microbiological quality.* Since 2003 I am participating actively in ISO committee developing reference methods for microbiological analysis and collaborating with the National Accreditation Body. I worked developing and validating reference and alternative analytical methods according international standards (e.g. ISO 16140). I am used to working in different food commodities, industrial and technical environments. I have been invited as speaker in international conferences and nominated by official organizations in several missions (Mexico, Vietnam, Chile, Egypt, EU) to provide technical support on food safety. Quality is not only technology but also people. Training, compliance, accreditation, Good Laboratory Practices must be the focus to guarantee successfully results. Working together with a worldwide network of laboratories helped me to understand and adapt the tools to different multicultural teams. I enjoy learning and discovering new ways to do things to bring benefits to food quality and safety.
