About David Torres

I am a fourth-year Mechatronics student with a strong passion for technological innovation, robotics, and AI. Over the past year, I have been deeply involved in research on autonomous robotics at ESPOL, focusing on swarm behavior and simulation environments. I’ve had the chance to collaborate with leading professors and contribute to projects with Rise Lab at SKKU mainly by coding behavior for mobile robots and building robust simulation systems. I also serve as a teaching assistant for the Robots course, where I guide students through hands-on practice and help bridge the gap between theory and real-world robotics. I enjoy supporting others as they learn, troubleshoot, and grow their technical confidence. My long-term goal is to keep exploring the intersection of robotics, AI, and innovation—whether through advanced studies, scholarships, or roles that will help me reach a fourth degree and eventually a PhD. I thrive in collaborative, international environments, and I’m always eager to connect with people who share my curiosity for problem-solving and technology. I am fluent in Spanish and English and always open to new challenges and opportunities!
