About David Tournier

Business lawyer passionate about new technologies, energy projects and financing transactions. I rely on diverse experiences acquired within law firms and in-house, in local and international contexts, to support entrepreneurs, investors, directors and legal departments in a broad range of matters. I worked on complex and prominent insolvency files in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. Restructuring led me to corporate financing, including for the funding of and other major infrastructure and energy projects. My representations with the Quebec Energy Board in 2014 helped adjusting the regulatory framework for procuring natural gas and facilitating the development of industrial projects in the Province. Having grown in France near the German and Swiss borders, studied in Canada, worked with Indian investors, and found my second family in Japan, I thrive in any international context. I love my job because I am convinced that cross-border transactions and constantly changing new technologies are an important element of bringing cultures together in a harmonious way. I developed analytical and communication skills very early in life, writing in a local newspaper from age 10, hosting a radio show at 16, and faring in several moots over my years as a student. These skills help me understand complex business issues and personalities, find commonly acceptable solutions, and synthesize them into efficiently drafted agreements.
