About David Trabilsy

David Trabilsy hails form Plainfield, NJ; he graduated from Rutgers College with a bachelor’s degree in History. He followed his undergraduate studies with graduate degrees in Educational Theory and coursework at the University of Oxford. After teaching high school social studies for 3 years, Dave became the Assistant Director of Admissions at Rutgers where he also taught courses in the Philosophy and History of Education. He then became the Director of Admissions at Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine, followed by 13 years as the Assistant Dean for Admissions at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He left the School of Medicine to become the founding Director of the Johns Hopkins Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program, a course of study for college graduates who needed the science classes necessary to apply to medical school. During his career. Dave served as an officer in several professional organizations and speaker / presenter at numerous conferences. After retiring, he continued to work as an educational consultant for the Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine residency programs at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the University of Iowa School of Medicine. In 2010-11 he helped Johns Hopkins School of Medicine establish the Perdana University Graduate School of Medicine (PUGSOM) in Malaysia. He was honored by the first class of students at PUGSOM to deliver the keynote address at their “White Coat Ceremony”. He continued to volunteer for the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Admissions Committee and was a part-time premedical advisor at the Johns Hopkins undergraduate campus. He is currently assisting the Admissions Office at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn. Dave's main volunteer activity has been serving as a member of the executive board and President of CCD-USA, a non-profit NGO that supports disabled children in Thailand.
