About David Upton

David Upton, Ph.D, has both graduate and undergraduate education in exercise science, nutrition, psychology, and statistics as well as many years of industry experience. This academic and experiential preparation makes him uniquely qualified to develop and implement health and wellness programs. Dr. Upton, developing his first wellness program in 1976, has participated in the growth of the Wellness industry for over 40 years. Dr. Upton as a private consultant has designed and implemented health and wellness programs for companies and individuals both nationally and internationally for over 40 years. Most recently retired from TCU where, serving as the Wellness Manager, he was charged with the task of developing and implementing programs to enhance the health and wellbeing of TCU employees, both current and retired. Currently, Dr. Upton consults with companies and organizations who desire to improve the health and well-being of their employees. Dr. Upton is an experienced Wellness Manager with a demonstrated history of working in both higher education and corporate environments. Skilled in Program Development and Implementation, Athletics, Strength & Conditioning, Public Speaking, Kinesiology, and Operant Conditioning. Strong healthcare services professional with a Ph.D. focused in Exercise Physiology from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and graduate and post-doctoral training in Psychology and Nutrition.
