Background

About David Walakira

I am a charismatic, multi skilled development economists, economy policy analyst and PFM specialist with over 11 years experience in program and project management, public policy development and implementation review. I work to contribute to improved SDGs especially those linked to Human Capital Development, through targeted engagements with all relevant stakeholders (government, development partners, private sector, CSOs and the communities). I have engaged stakeholders for improved social outcomes at the Spring and Annual Meetings organized by the IMF/WB in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022 at the Civil Society Policy Forum. Nationally I have represented CSOs on the Budget Transparency Initiative and on the Public Expenditure Management Committee (a tripartite committee of GoU, Development Partners and CSOs – chaired by the PS/ST MoFPED) of Government of Uganda. When the public resources are managed under agreed and approved frameworks, with strengthened institutional capacity to safeguard from avoidable leakages, we shall achieve desired outcomes sustainably.
