Currently hold the post of Systems Engineer (Snr Eng) within Network Rail where I have been working for the past 18 years on Enhancement, Third Party and Outside Party schemes. I have 27 years experience as an engineer, including 25 years within the railway industry and 8 yrs as a Systems Engineer. I have delivered a number of large complex multi-disciplinary projects combining civils, track, signalling, electrical and power and telecommunications disciplines from conception to completion, following the PACE/GRIP process. This has enabled me to gain a wide knowledge of the challenges in re-opening railways lines, track doubling schemes, major and minor stations, installation of new signalling systems, complex bridges, access for all (AFA). platforms, drainage, earthworks, civil ancillaries and mining- Presently working as a Designated Project Engineer (DPE) and also undertaking Project Management duties on the Levenmouth Project which consisted of the re-opening of a disused branch line, including two new stations. contract value £116m-DPE for Ravenscraig bridge project which at the time was the heaviest concrete bridge to be lifted by SPMT in Europe and won the Scottish Civil Engineering Award- DPE for the Inverness Airport station project, which consists of the construction of a new station, doubling of the tracks over a 1mile length and new signalling, contract value £60m. Previously been working on the AtoI enhancement schemes which had a contract value of approx. £175m and Kintore station.
