About David Walsh-Pickering

As the NA CEO and Board Practice Group Specialist at Egon Zehnder's Montreal office, I bring a wealth of experience in working with small, mid, and large-cap companies on a range of Board of Director mandates in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. I have a proven track record of success in assessing strategy, compensation guidelines, governance structures and policies, and nominations, particularly in the health, defense, tech, industrial, energy, consumer, and sustainability sectors. In addition to my work with clients, I am also a key member of the leadership team overseeing the development of the practice in the US market. My insights and expertise have helped shape the direction of the practice, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of our industry. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, I worked as a private consultant in Eastern Canada, where I advised private, public, and non-profit stakeholders on a range of issues. My work included governance and management restructuring, program and policy development, and implementation. I am proud to have made a positive impact on the organizations I worked with, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their operations. Academically, I hold a Ph.D. in International Relations and an MA in Political Studies from Queen's University. My thesis focused on corporate social responsibility practices and governance structures of multinational extractive companies operating in at-risk and volatile environments. This research has given me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by companies in these sectors, and has helped me to develop effective strategies for addressing them.
