I have a strong interdisciplinary background leveraging different technologies to advance goals.My most recent project is the development of a python package to classify pregnancies and other obstetric indicators. Most classification algorithms exist only as published text, this package will allow more researchers the ability to engage in pregnancy research in an open-source manner. This package served as a driving force behind my dissertation research, Pregnancy Outcomes in Patients with Hidradenitis Suppurativa, which I recently presented at the AMIA 2024 Annual Symposium.I supported work in assessing the data quality of the Missouri state immunization information system by identifying potential duplications and providing recommendations to prevent future issues. And previously, I built a MariaDB with a Django front-end to streamline contact tracing efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.I constructed a Convolutional Neural Network to detect pneumonia from X-ray images to demonstrate machine learning techniques in seminar at UMKC and have served as a statistical mentor for students in the Neuroscience class for the past several years. Additionally, I have been the REDCap administrator for the UMKC School of Medicine.I have leveraged skills learned in the classroom to extract information from phone systems for clients, and gained valuable insight into server and database management by constructing the back-end for VoIP phone systems.I built a workflow that automated the reading of Fluorescent Antibody Virus Neutralization tests at the K-State Rabies Lab using the Biotek Cytation and the associated software. I presented this work as a post at the 2017 2nd Annual Midwest Bioinformatics Conference.I came up through the wet lab and have experience working with mouse models, ELISA, immunostaining, virus neutralization assays, cell culture, PCR, microbiology, and more.
