About David Welch

From public arts programming to teaching to thought leadership from the C-suite, I help audiences see themselves in – and learn about the world from – powerful stories. I have over 15 years of experience editing literary, technical, and B2B manuscripts for publication and collaborating across teams to deliver excellent artistic, educational, and marketing content. My experience as a successful communications professional runs the gamut from teaching graduate and undergraduate creative writing courses – for which I've twice been awarded University-wide honors – to directing more than a dozen public programs for civic partners such as the Chicago Public Library and StoryCorps. I've concurrently managed a nonprofit press and two international literary journals and have experienced dynamic success as a program and budget manager, delivering dynamic publications and cultural programming for community organizations. I have strong public speaking experience, presenting at international conferences and lecturing at the Art Institute of Chicago as well as private art galleries and community centers. My writing has appeared in more than 100 publications, from earned media in TechCrunch to poetry in the Boston Review.
