About David Werkmann

I am a technically inclined customer focused individual with over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry. I began my career at AIG providing customer service to Annuity policy owners and agents. In this position I was gifted with knowledge about fixed, indexed and variable annuities, IRS rules surrounding retirement income, and most importantly the impact 1 person can have on a customer's life. From here I transitioned to a role as a Business Analyst where I learned to build PPfAs (Product Profiles for Annuities), which are used to stand Annuity products up on electronic interfaces, such as Affirm and AN4. I also learned the ins and outs of setting up our distribution firms for electronic data feeds so they could monitor their clients' accounts. Since then, I have transitioned to a role as a Lead Business Analyst for the AIG Firelight team. Aside from developing products on the Firelight platform, I am also responsible for analyzing and estimating incoming projects, prioritizing and assigning work to the Firelight team, working directly with our distribution partners that use Firelight and developing useful methods of keeping the team's progress efficient and transparent. I truly believe that if you maintain a positive and collaborative work environment and always have the customer in mind, any job can be fun and fulfilling.
