About David Willson

As someone constantly generating ideas on how to make users’ lives better, I realize an idea without execution is just daydreaming That’s why my career, both academically and professionally, every day has been built on going from zero-to-one, concept-to-reality, development-to-production and at least 3 cups of coffee. I started using the web to create interactive experiences when it was still in its infancy and have continued exploring new technologies and how they can supercharge users and content creators alike. At The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, I wore many hats: business analyst; designer; writer; and UI developer. The core objectives of research, education and innovation are ones that resonate with me to this day, and is a recurring theme throughout my career. At Wolters Kluwer, I have built, tested, deployed and sometimes scrapped more AI and data solutions than most people have ever even heard of. It is that type of experimentation that has led to me leading cross-functional teams designing systems for hundreds of users. I work very hard so that we don’t have to work hard. These days, I'm finding ways to use the full toolkit of machine learning, robotic process automation and generative AI to make users’ lives easier, and maybe even cutting down by one cup of coffee.
