About David Winickoff

I lead the Secretariat of the Working Party on Biotechnology, Nanotechnology and Converging Technologies at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris. I am an Adjunct Professor of Law at SciencesPo and was a tenured professor of bioethics at University of California, Berkeley, before moving to the OECD and SciencesPo. I lead a research team and bring together public, private, academic, and philanthropic actors to set standards and to help drive responsible and ethical innovation towards sustainable development. I shape new ways of thinking about technology, build research programs, align diverse actors, and generate codes of responsible innovation for countries, organizations and firms. Building communities, articulating core values and developing practical tools, I aim to open new pathways for emerging technology to address our greatest health and ecological challenges.
