I am a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia with over twenty years consulting and corporate experience in General Insurance and Accident Compensation. I have extensive experience providing actuarial and financial advice to Boards, senior executives, insurance companies, Government schemes and self-insurers. I am currently the Chief Actuary for Hollard Insurance Australia and take primary responsibility for the quality, appropriateness and value of the actuarial and financial advice, along with insights to key stakeholders and the Board to drive better commercial decisions. My responsibilities include insurance reserving, head of capital, head of reinsurance, Group Analytics, pricing advice, performance monitoring and other actuarial advice as required.Previously I was the CFO & Appointed Actuary (AA) for the Commonwealth Bank’s general insurance business, CIL, and sat on both the business and finance leadership teams. I was also the CFO for the Advice and Retail Wealth business units. As the CFO, my key responsibilities include leading the broader finance team producing both management and statutory reporting and forecasting, expense analysis, financial control and delivering insights to key stakeholders and Boards.
