About David York

During the initial seven years of my construction career, I expanded my knowledge of the national building codes and electrical trade practices. I advanced from my initial role as an apprentice to become a licensed electrician and foreman for E.W.E. Electrical in Wilmington, NC. My attention to detail and quality, cost consciousness, and dedication to project success can be attested by my supervisor, Vice President Jody Eason. I honed my research, arithmetic, and writing skills through the bachelor's degrees I acquired at Western Carolina University (W.C.U.). I earned several awards in college, coauthored two published articles, and received accolades for my presentations in both senior capstone projects. The capstone projects also highlighted the importance of teamwork, which I thoroughly enjoy and have allowed me to widen my skills by learning from others' expertise and sharing my own knowledge. Today I am employed as a cost estimator at Cupertino Electric, Inc, where I work as part of a team completing estimates for industrial, public infrastructure, transit, and data center projects around the country. According to EC & M, Cupertino Electric Inc. is America's 5th largest electrical contractor. My responsibilities allow me to acquire first-hand experience regarding all things preconstruction on a diverse set of exciting projects.
