About David Zentz

David Zentz is a still and motion photographer who creates vibrant and engaging imagery for editorial, corporate & commercial clients. His specialties include portraiture, lifestyle, documentary and travel photography. Following his early career as a photojournalist for newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times and the Peoria Journal Star, David has worked for more than a decade photographing a wide variety of subjects in the fields of entertainment, business, education and science. He has a strong interest current issues such as environmentalism and green technology, but enjoys any opportunity to meet and photograph interesting people and tell a unique story. David’s clients include the Wall Street Journal, Discover Magazine, Morningstar Magazine, Financial Advisor Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine, Outside, National Parks Magazine, Newsweek and the Chronicle of Higher Education, as well as Best Buy, Thrivent Financial, Kyocera, Dartmouth College, MUFG Bank, Georg Fischer, Direct Energy, Belviq, Stella Artois, Panasonic and Adobe. He formerly served on the national board of directors and as the president of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), an organization that advocates for photographers' rights and teaches better business practices. His interest in education began while earning his masters at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, where he taught an Introduction to Photojournalism course. He has also contributed to nonprofit organizations, including Venice Arts and Flashes of Hope and has been a recent mentor for the Young Photographers Alliance (YPA). In his personal life David is a husband, father of two and an somewhat competent handyman. He also enjoys traveling, but is also happy discovering new places and experiences in and around his own backyard in Ventura, just outside LA.
