About David Zhao

Compassionate, motivated, and energetic telemetry focused CN II that strive to provide the utmost patient-centered care experience through advocacy, safety, and inter-professional teamwork and communication. PROFESSIONAL GOALS As I interned for a community outreach program and participating in a medical mission, I learned that so many individuals do not have the capability to care for themselves due to the lack of proper health education. I strongly believe that with persistent education on evidence-based primary and secondary prevention practices for individuals, many diseases can be averted, people can be much more satisfied with their life without crippling diseases, and unnecessary emergency room visits can be prevented. While the physiology of a person is important to treat, my clinical experiences as a nurse coupled with my years being a nursing assistant has taught me to perceive every person holistically; every individual needs their biopsychosocial needs met, which can sometimes be easily forgotten sometimes in the hospital setting. I believe that thinking about a person holistically when taking care of them triggers you to think about what kind of learning deficits they have, or if they have any barriers to learning or financial barriers to taking care of themselves for example. When I think about those things, that makes me into a better patient advocate, and prompts me to coordinate care with doctors, social workers, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care to put my patients first.
