About Davide Foletti

I am a Senior R&D Scientist and Leader with 25+ years of combined experience in academia (postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University) and in the industry, ranging from start-up and biotech (Rinat Neuroscience and 23andMe Therapeutics) to large pharmaceutical companies (Pfizer). I have gained expertise, led projects, set the strategy and supervised teams in target and drug discovery in the areas of neuroscience, pain and migraine, asthma, bacterial pathogens, oncology, cardiovascular diseases and osteoarthritis. I have sound knowledge of the process of generation, characterization and development of antibodies as therapeutic modality, and basic knowledge of small molecule drug discovery. I have gained expertise in target and drug discovery utilizing human genetics. My leadership skills include 15+ years of guiding and mentoring small to medium size groups of research associates, scientists and senior scientists as well as setting up and leading external collaborations with academic groups and industry partners. I am driven by the excitement of scientific discovery that leads to the development of drugs for unmet medical needs.
