About Davide Imperiale

Master's Degree in Biological Sciences, Genetics and Microbiology and PhD in Environmental Biotechnology. After two experiences in Quality Control Laboratories of food companies, I carried out research activities in the Environmental and Food fields for 3 years at the Department of Biosciences, University of Parma. Later, I was Researcher and then Research Project Manager of the Agro-Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory of the Interdepartmental Center for Safety, Technologies and Agri-food Innovation. During this 4-year experience, I acquired management skills and extended the training in Project and R&D Management. Later I held the role of Head of the Environment Department, Valorization and Sustainability Area of the Experimental Station for the Food Industry as well as an ACCREDIA accredited laboratory according to the UNI EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard. During this experience I integrated my training as Internal Quality Laboratory Auditor. In addition to these activities, I have been consultant for food companies within R&D projects, a technical expert for lawsuits and I was company trainer in the environmental and food fields. In recent years I have coordinated the activities of the R&D technical workers involved in chemical, physical and microbiological analyses in the environmental or food field and in Circular Economy and Environmental Sustainability Research Projects. Topics of these project were, for example, the enhancement of residual biomass and by-products of the agro-food supply chains and energy valorisation of waste and plastic residues. I was Scientific Manager in 2 Institutional Projects and 1 Regional Project, the role of Technical Manager in 1 Institutional Project of University of Parma, the role of Principal Investigator in 8 Regional Project (POR-FESR and PSR), 1 European Project and 1 Institutional Project. I participated into 2 National PRIN projects, 2 AGER projects, 1 Cariparma project and 2 European projects. From a management point of view, the following are the economic and financial results achieved in the last year of management of the R&D Laboratory: management of research projects funded for a total amount of 305K of funding, an increase of 34.8% of consulting activities compared to the previous year and 28.5% of analysis activities for customers. Reduction of 58% of the expenses compared to the previous year.
