About Davide Scano

I build networking dataplane software close to silicon: packet-processing pipeline logic, low-level driver modules, and the validation/debug needed to deliver dataplane features to production. I take features end-to-end, from design trade-offs to validation and debug. At Nokia, I define, design, and develop networking pipeline features and driver modules in C/C++ for a next-generation networking ASIC.I hold a PhD with honors focused on programmable data planes and disaggregated networks. I developed P4 programs for packet processing, telemetry, and QoS. I built SDN control applications on the ONOS controller, including a device driver for Fujitsu T600, and extended SONiC NOS with additional services, such as a NETCONF agent.I’ve worked with programmable switching platforms including Intel Tofino andand Nvidia/Mellanox Spectrum 1 and Spectrum 2 switches using SONiC and P4.I contribute to the P4 Language Consortium as a Google Summer of Code org admin and mentor, and I support the community through code contributions and P4 Developer Days programming (10+ moderated webinars).
