About Davis Cook

As a Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering student at Purdue University, I am passionate about exploring the intersection of mechanical and electrical engineering to drive innovation in automation and manufacturing. My academic journey and hands-on experience have equipped me with a solid foundation in both disciplines, complemented by a strong proficiency in CAD software and programming. During my internships at ITW Hartness, I have gained valuable experience in both mechanical and controls engineering. As a Controls Engineering Intern, I developed and programmed PLC logic for industrial automation systems, streamlining control strategies and reducing downtime. My role as a Mechanical Engineering Intern involved designing and engineering a vertically adjustable pendant arm for new case packing machines, utilizing FEA and SolidWorks to ensure optimal performance and manufacturability. In addition to my technical skills, I have demonstrated leadership and project management abilities as the Grand Prix Chairman for Sigma Nu Fraternity, where I coordinated tasks, managed budgets, and successfully raised for team advancements. I am eager to leverage my expertise in robotics and mechatronics to tackle complex engineering challenges and contribute to cutting-edge projects. My goal is to continue developing innovative solutions and applying creative problem-solving techniques to advance the fields of automation and manufacturing.
