Background
About Davisharn Buckshon
I am a versatile individual with diverse experience across various fields. However my passion undoubtedly has been devoted to Medicine. My desire to become a Doctor stems from a genuine aspiration to save lives, alleviate suffering, and offer solace, whether it be physical, emotional, or financial. I am proud to have established a career of versatility enabling the mantra “Jack of all trades” with a mastery of some. I hold an associate degree in Architecture Design Technology; bringing an expertise in planning, attention to detail, design and execution, to my medical career. In the realm of Banking and Finance, I dedicated nearly four years to the S.K.N.A National Bank of St.Kitts and Nevis achieving recognition from the managers as one of the most efficient tellers with minimal margin errors. My versatility is not only confined to academia, but also extends to sports, philanthropy, religion and leadership. I played Semi-Professional Football (soccer) for St. Peter’s Football Club, the city in which I was raised, successfully winning one championship cup. I also represented the St. Kitts and Nevis National youth team before an untimely injury sadly ending my football career. I devoted three years as an assistant teacher at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Sunday school, and was a member of the Anglican’s Young People’s Association. Whilst in Cuba pursuing medicine I held the position of Secretary General in the Student Body council with my portfolio of Sports, Activities and Recreation. I was also Alumno Ayudante (student assistant) helping professors administer lectures, in addition to tutoring students with difficulty. It takes a community to build a child, hence my passion to give back to my community which gave so much to me. I am deeply committed to philanthropy, providing free healthcare to my community and establishing a scholarship program in honor of my mother and provide financial aid to students advancing to their next level of education. Becoming a doctor was not only for myself but for my family, community and country and I will continue to use my profession to have a positive impact on society.
