Over the course of my career I have been recognized as an innovative, creative, strategic thinker who cares about people and leverages both established policies and out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems and inspire a passion for risk management. My specialties include inspecting and evaluating workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance to safety standards and government regulations; communicating findings and recommendations in away that leads to effective change; designing and implementing work processes and procedures for hazardous operations; administering, developing and providing employee safety training; and conducting solution focused accident/incident investigations. As an innovator and self-starter, I developed the Army's first mobile application for Apple/Android, the SafetyGO APP, a public access application that connected a small safety office to an installation community of over Soldiers, Civilians, Family Members and Retirees. I authored the first Inter-Agency Service Support Agreement between the state of Kansas Department of Transportation and a USAG command, which allowed a military installation to use Department of Transportation assets in support of the Army mission. As a Change Champion, I was able to present qualitative data which persuaded my organization to undertake one of the largest playground construction ($500K) improvement projects and standardize playground surfacing across a military installation. What has kept my passion for safety ablaze is the impact I have on the culture of safety in the organizations I have been fortunate to be a part of. As a subject matter expert, facilitator, inspector, trainer, mentor and team player, my energy, positive attitude and willingness to work and respect the knowledge of others has afforded me wonderful and satisfying opportunities to make a difference.
