About Dawn Farrell
Dawn Farrell, a lifelong resident of Geauga County, was introduced to HUD housing in and now serves as the Executive Director of the Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority (GMHA). Prior to her current role, Dawn held various other positions in the agency - starting as its receptionist and has been with GMHA for more than 20 years. While she has witnessed many industry changes firsthand, she believes that the goals of the GMHA to provide decent and safe housing as well as opportunities for self-sufficiency remain the same. Dawn graduated from Lakeland Community College with an Associate of Arts degree and in 2013 was excited to graduate from Lake Erie College with her B.A. in Business Administration. Outside the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike and their families. They attend Grace Church of Mentor and have volunteered with the Geauga Faith Rescue Mission, a nonprofit Mike founded with the goal of assisting the homeless in Geauga County. When time allows, she can be found relaxing at the sewing machine while working on a quilt.
