About Dawn L. James

I have worked in corporate brand and product marketing. My career has provided me the opportunity to work for companies including Rawlings Sporting Goods, Fisher-Price/Mattel, and Turtlewax, in marketing executive management roles. I have also worked in the advertising and service marketing industries as the Director of Marketing. My higher academic teaching career spans 25 years in both the classroom and on-line setting. I am currently a Subject Matter Expert-Full Time Faculty, with Keiser University, and an academic advisor for business students. I also teach marketing courses as an adjunct for Trident Technical College and Florida National University. I have taught honors marketing to CMS high school students and advised their DECA scholastic competition marketing students. I enjoyed mentoring students through the Mayors Youth Employment Program as an Intern Team Leader. Over the years in teaching higher education, I worked full-time on-ground for the Art Institute’s Florida campus (2008-2012); as an adjunct on-ground faculty for St. Leo University (July 2013-2015); Indiana Wesleyan University; Indiana Institute of Technology; and American Intercontinental University,(1996 – 2008); Full-time faculty at Keiser University (2006-present); and Adjunct faculty for Trident Technical College (2023-present) and SEI (July 2024-2025). Undergraduate and Graduate teachings include: International Marketing, Strategic Management, Principles of Marketing, Marketing Management, Healthcare Marketing, Business Policy, Marketing Research, Sales Management, Retail Management, Retail Buying, E-Commerce, Customer Service Strategies, Consumer Behavior and Advertising courses. My graduate degree is in international marketing from Webster University. My career positions have had me living in Chicago, St. Louis, New York, Indiana, Florida, North and South Carolina. I love sharing my passion for and the dynamics of marketing with students. I truly have been blessed to work in a fascinating industry.
