Successfully implemented the Financial Cent$ Program with various funding sources to include 2 consecutive HUD Resident Opportunity Self Sufficiency Grants, Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act (NAHASDA) Funds, revenue generated by the program and various grants and donations from our partner organizations. The program covers all Southeast Alaska and has served over clients since its inception in 2012. The mission of the program is to Empower the people of Southeast Alaska to become self-sufficient and in turn promote self-sufficient rural communities. • Created and successfully managed 5 lending programs while maintaining compliance with State and federal guidelines in accordance with OMB regulations. Managed a sustainable Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site in partnership with the regional tribe, University of Alaska SE, First Bank of Alaska and United Way Southeast. The site serves all Southeast Alaska and provides services to over 600 families, with an annual growth rate of more than 15% annually. • Restarted the Haa YaKaawu Financial Corporation (HYFC) as a functioning Community Development Institution (CDFI). HYFC issues Mortgage loans and provides Down Payment Assistance to clients that are under 80% of the Median Family Income. HYFC also provides a robust portfolio of development services to prospective and post purchase Homebuyers.
