About Daylen Elosegui

My journey began at 17, when God granted me the blessing of moving to the USA and embracing a new culture, language, and lifestyle. This foundational experience deeply informs my approach to teaching, allowing me to genuinely comprehend and empathize with adult learners navigating similar challenges to achieve their goals. With a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (University of Miami, 2007) and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (Florida International University, 2004), I've dedicated over 18 years to full-time humanities instruction. I'm proud to be an active member of the QEP and Research Committees, collaborating with colleagues to make higher education accessible and impactful. My commitment to student success has been recognized with multiple "Instructor of the Year" and "Academic Excellence" awards. Beyond the classroom, I hold certifications in Music Theory and Piano Instruction (Farah's Music Conservatory of Miami) and recently in Practices of Mindfulness ( UK New Skills Academy). I'm currently channeling my insights into my upcoming book, Wake-Up Higher Education. Inspired by the Ancient Greeks' pursuit of freedom, I believe my role as a Humanities professor is more vital than ever. In a world shaped by technology and information, higher education's global impact is immense. I am fortunate to contribute daily to fostering critical thinking, unraveling new knowledge, and solving challenges that transcend borders. Teaching Humanities has not only deepened my belief in God and respect for diversity but has also cultivated a unique sense of pluralism and open-mindedness, equipping me with effective educational methods. My 18 years of experience working with a diverse student body have solidified my commitment to integrity, understanding, and respect for all academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, cultural, disability, and sexual orientation backgrounds.
