About Dean Ardron

Dean is the Managing Partner of Ursel Phillips Fellows Hopkinson LLP, responsible for overarching management of the Firm’s administration and operations. He practices labour law exclusively on behalf of trade unions and associations. He regularly represents employees and unions in both industrial and construction matters before labour arbitrators, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and other administrative tribunals. Dean has litigated a broad range of arbitrations including individual grievances, wide-ranging policy matters, and interest arbitrations for renewal collective agreements. Dean also provides strategic counsel and representation with collective bargaining, organizing, and lobbying efforts to his clients. Dean prides himself in being a trusted advisor to his clients and assisting them with finding practical solutions to their most pressing problems. When that fails, he is willing, able and prepared to vigorously represent his clients’ interests through litigation. He quite likes that too. He joined the firm over 15 years ago after articling with the firm's predecessor and the Canadian Autoworkers Union. Dean attended Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating in the top 10% of his class. Dean is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. He has previously served on the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association Labour and Employment Law Section and is a frequent speaker and chair at labour and employment law conferences.
