For the last two years I have been on the Asset Management Team at the MBTA. My discipline is Power. We are mainly focused on getting all Assets into Trapeze, which is our EAMS platform. The main objective is to get all the Preventive Maintenance and Inspections in Trapeze for automatic WO production, according to the Manufacturer's recommendations in the O&M. Once this is achieved and we can report Maintenance as a measured component of our SoGR, our next goal will be to add a Measured component. Perhaps heat and vibration sensing for motors and XFMRs, thus allowing us to better report our SoGR to the FTA (NTD). Prior to that for five years I worked as Electrical Engineer on the Design Team for the Green Line Extension (MBTA). I completed my duties on that project and handed off the GLX to Engineering & Maintenance. Since 2005 I have been working in the Solar Energy field in one way or another. Weather in the manufacturing industry at BP Solar, or in the field doing feasibility studies, design, and construction at several large Solar EPC's, or here in MA monitoring array performance and third party commissioning for clients across the country (Peirce Welding and Fabricating, U.S. Air Force, VA Hospitals, & State owned Solar facilities), I have always felt that this career path is very fulfilling and where I want to be. My company, The Dean of Solar, is still plugging away at maintaining sites I've designed and installed, as well as selling those SRECs.
