About Dean Baggs

Machines and Automation are two areas of engineering that fascinate me and motivate me to learn more and improve my skills as an engineer. I enjoy engineering challenges that involve these two factors and ultimately make a process more repeatable and more reliable. I have always been mechanically inclined, and strive to understand how things work in order to better them or completely re-engineer them. Throughout college, my main motivation was getting to be a part of the FSAE team at UCI. While working on the team, I helped design and build an electric race vehicle that outperformed our previous gasoline designs. Racing the product of thousands of hours of collective effort was one of the highlights of my college career, and is a constant reminder of the power of effective teamwork and project management. My long term goals are to work for a company that makes automated machines or utilizes them in innovative ways. A masters degree in electro-mechanical engineering is constantly in the back of my mind, and will be obtained in the near future.
