About Dean Buchanan
Dean has over 10 years' experience in science-based roles and in 2015 he completed research on the environmental impacts of freshwater dredging as part of his thesis for the Master of Environmental Management program at Central Queensland University. Following an undergraduate degree studying biochemistry and biotechnology in Canada, Dean gained essential background science skills working in both analytical chemistry and microbiology laboratories for a global skincare manufacturer. Since relocating to Queensland, Dean has gained experience with the investigation, management and reporting of soils and sediments, groundwater, surface waters, bore development, crops, wastewater, treated effluent, acid sulphate soils, receiving environment monitoring programmes and aquatic ecology surveys. Dean also has mine site environmental management experience and specialises in the installation of remote sensing and datalogging equipment as well as the analysis and interpretation of acquired data.
