About Dean Carson

In 2022, I joined atai Life Sciences (NASDAQ: ATAI) as Entrepreneur-in-Residence before transitioning to CEO of two of atai's early clinical stage portfolio companies, Viridia Life Sciences and EmpathBio, leading matrix teams of industry experts in the development of novel treatments for complex psychiatric conditions. I am neuroscientist and psychopharmacologist by training with broad experience across small startups to mid-sized public biotech companies. My professional expertise spans clinical development, medical affairs, and business operations having supported multiple Ph1 through Ph3 clinical trials, pre-launch and commercial medical affairs activities, company formation and growth, and fund raising activities. In addition, I am a passionate patient advocate serving the rare disease community in my activities at as a board member at the Raymond A. Wood Foundation.
