About Dean Flint

I'm currently a Software Engineer in the Play tribe at Flutter UKI, where I focus on maintaining and enhancing the Super 6 product. My day-to-day involves working with JavaScript/React and AWS services like RDS, S3, and CloudFront. Recent projects include redesigning the Golden Goal user journey and preparing the platform for the start and end of the football season. Previously, I contributed to a variety of Sky Betting & Gaming products, including SkyBingo, SkyCasino, SkyPoker, and in-game experiences like Prize Machine and Spinzone. My work focused on creating a seamless user experience across portals and games through thoughtful interface design and robust front-end development. Alongside my professional work at Sky Betting & Gaming/Flutter UKI, I earned a Master’s degree in Digital and Technology Solutions from Sheffield Hallam University. Before joining Flutter, I worked at the digital marketing agency twentysix as a Front-End Developer, delivering projects for various clients using Vue.js in collaboration with Project and Account Managers. My journey into tech began with a self-funded Full Stack Diploma in Software Development from the Code Institute, where I gained hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AngularJS, Python, MySQL, and Django. The course emphasised practical application, including UX principles, test-driven development, and setting up development environments. Outside of software engineering, I’ve spent several summers in the U.S. working at a summer camp for children with special behavioural needs. I progressed from a Computer Specialist to Deputy, and eventually became the Head of the Technology Team, leading a group of 11 specialists.
