Dean is an international business professional who has over 30 years experience running projects in the telecoms & fintech sectors. For the past 6 years he has been with Thermo Fisher Scientific in the laboratory equipment biotechnology pharmaceutical healthcare sector. His specialties are a derived from his work and training over the years: • His business acumen has come from gaining a MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics (now the Aalto University, Helsinki) and then applying his learning in business. Whether this is via business development activities with partners, presenting at a hackathon with developers, or demonstrating the product / service to analysts, media and bloggers. • As a certified project manager (PMP from the Project Management Institute) he does like structure and discipline throughout all his work. However this does not mean inflexibility, part of the ethos of MixRadio has been to embracing the lean start-up methodologies (scrum/Kanban). The end result is a very pragmatic and sensitive Project Manager who gets stuff done. • As an engineer (Degree in electronics) he has a thirst for knowledge on how stuff works, he tends to break stuff to work out a better way for it to work – then feeding that back into the product owner / product management. He also has a natural flair / passion for demonstrating “how stuff works” in a very easy to understand way.
