Mr. Reed received his M.P.S. in Cultural Heritage and Resource Management from the University of Maryland in 2022. His coursework involved intensive training in Section 106 and international regulation, tribal and public outreach, archaeological theory, project management, business development, vital technologies for data collection, and curation. His research utilized methodologies ranging from architectural history, archaeology, cultural geography, and material ethnography of the mid-20th century American landscape. Mr. Reed has 10 years of professional experience as an archaeologist. Throughout his career he has gained extensive field experience in West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Arizona, and has nearly 8 years of project experience in California. He is qualified as a Field Director on Stantec’s Cultural Resources Use Permit from the Bureau of Land Management; a qualified Field Director on Stantec’s ARPA permits for National Forest; and has filled the role of Field Director and Principal Investigator for other Stantec Projects on State and Federal Land. He has performed a range of tasks in support of his project work including pedestrian and subsurface survey, testing and evaluation, site recordation, architectural inventory, technical reporting, lab analysis, and project and data management for projects in Fresno, Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Mono, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Santa Barbara counties. He has received intermittent cross-qualification training as a Paleontological Technician through his involvement in various monitoring projects in the greater Los Angeles Area and has performed excavations and lab work for the La Brea Tar Pits Museum. His project experience spans industries such as oil and gas, housing, transportation, and utilities.
