Dean Romhilt is a senior attorney in the Office of the Solicitor at the U.S. Department of Labor. He is in the Fair Labor Standards Division, which provides advice regarding and enforces federal wage payment and leave laws (among other laws). Dean's responsibilities include researching and drafting appellate and amicus briefs, arguing appeals, advising regarding legislation, regulations, and rulemaking, and working on agency interpretations and determinations. At Hogan & Hartson, Dean practiced in the Labor and Employment and Litigation groups for over nine years. He represented employers and executives in litigation before federal and state courts, as well as agencies, and provided them with counseling on a variety of employment-related issues. He litigated discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims; contract disputes; and non-competition and trade secret issues. On behalf of both employers and executives, he drafted and negotiated employment, separation, and other agreements.
