I've spent the last 19 years working within the microbial agriculture sector - first at a small local company (Philom Bios Inc.) which was purchased by Novozymes in 2007. I've seen a major shift in the focus and resources spent in this industry - especially in recent years as the big ag chem players has focused a growing amount of their attention on microbial based solutions. The majority of my career was spent building a regulatory department and competencies based solely on biological agricultural inputs. This included biopesticides, microbial inoculants and other microorganism based agricultural products. This position was global in scope and lead to various interactions with consultants, industry colleagues and, most importantly, government regulators. More recently, I have been involved in a business and product development role to identify new partners and technologies so Novozymes can remain a leader in the growing ag microbial sector.
