About Dean Williams

I have spent a lot of my time working in the hospitality sector, trying to make enough money to support my academic interests in computer science. Though not my dream job, cooking has taught me a lot about myself and given me valuable skills that will follow me through my life; it has improved my communication and team working abilities, raised my stress tolerance and increased my aptitude for time management. Through university I have been able to broaden my horizons by introducing myself to fields that really meld well with me; a new favorite that i have discovered through university is scalable database systems. At first I thought little of the subject, thinking it was quite mundane but as I started to implement the skills learnt from lectures and experimentation, I became hooked on how satisfying it is to create a clean and efficient data base, one with no overlaps and perfectly normalized tables. It's hard to explain in words how much this affected me but I am so happy that with perseverance and the assistance of the University of Lincoln I have found a new love to peruse. The university of Lincoln also has provided me with the opportunity to take on extra curricular courses, I decided to take on a Raytheon Windows Security module and achieving a certification for it.
