Could there be anything more dull than insurance? Ask most people and they would say no, and frankly some days I would agree! You can't avoid the fact that insurance is about contracts, legal definitions, risk analysis, and so on. BUT, it's also (maybe primarily) about helping people. Educating clients and friends about the way insurance works. Helping them understand problems they didn't know they had, and finding solutions to those problems (and it's not always insurance). I enjoy learning.learning about people's interests, learning what a particular business does and how it works, learning what concerns people have - what keeps them up at night - and seeing if there's a way I can help alleviate those concerns. I'm starting to sound like a counselor! Well, I guess I am, sort of. I received my Certified Insurance Counselor designation from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research in 2004. That program provides focused study on varied areas of insurance as well as agency management. In addition, I received the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from The American College in 1995. This provides specialized study and instruction in the area of life insurance, annuities, financial planning, and estate planning. I received my insurance agent's license way back in 1978. Today, in addition to helping individuals and businesses find various solutions to manage their financial risk, I also manage a large independent insurance agency with over 25 staff members serving over clients in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Now that's not so dull, is it?
