About Deandra Moerdaning

I am a highly motivated professional with over five years of experience in intergovernmental organizations, specialising in fostering regional collaboration. In my current role as an Officer in the Security Cooperation Division of the ASEAN Secretariat, I contribute to advancing regional security and addressing transnational challenges by assisting ASEAN Member States’ efforts to tackle the complex issue of illicit drugs. My responsibilities include coordinating key initiatives, conducting in-depth trend analysis, and developing strategic frameworks to strengthen regional security and promote resilience. Prior to this, I gained valuable experience as an Intern in the International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles (INPRO) Section at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), where I contributed to the development of international frameworks and methodologies for sustainable nuclear energy. I hold a Master's degree in Intelligence and International Security from King's College London, with a focus on analysing complex global security issues and their implications on international governance. My academic and professional journey reflects a commitment to fostering international cooperation and security.
