I'll never forget how my mom tried to reduce the time I spent on the computer because I was using it for playing more than studying, back when I was roughly the age of 11. Rather than pout and wait for her to get home everyday, I stumbled upon one of the thickest books that taught me how to reconfigure the BIOS setup, and even remove the chip for it completely. Using the markings on the desktop tower, I figured out how to remove the cover protecting the parts within the system unit from exposure. I had no idea what I was looking at, but I knew that I immediately fell in love with it. After I graduated high school, I followed my mother's footsteps into the hospitality industry and began to support the household through said field. After a decade of toiling at what I perceived to be the same results I would see in my former field, I realized that I had to make a change. One day, I caught myself fixing cellular devices and laptop computers and that old flame sparked brightly. What it was time for me to do had finally dawned on me. While working full-time in retail, I enrolled in a trade school full-time to earn my diploma in a 10-month program. Learning more than I could ever on my own, between Linux and making fiber optic cables, was daunting but not impossible. The amount of perseverance required was hard to fathom at the start. But, then again, my teacher also told me that I came in during the hardest part of the semester. I had to rely heavily on my time management skills and remain calm under pressure. A month later, new challenges and tasks arose. I was being made to lecture the class, manage the attendance, teach others how to disassemble or replace parts, hold mock interviews, and promote networking. The train that I didn't see myself building, during the whole process, was going at full speed and I was amazed at myself about it. I completed my 10-month Computer Network and Technician program, and graduated with a GPA of 3.9. The entire process taught me more about dedication than nearly every other experience. It also showed me the benefits of hard work, as, while it was difficult, it was certainly a journey worth taking in the end. But this was only the beginning. After making contact with preHIRED, I learned of sales methodologies and my mentors have only amplified everything I've learned from my past fields of sales-based positions, and I always look forward to making a way for my team to succeed. I've learned how to navigate CRMs and use sales automation to efficiently procure prospects. I can't wait to being my talents to your team!
