About Deanna Busteed

I am an experienced Registered and Licensed Dietitian with a Board Certification in Sports Nutrition. I have more than 23 years of experience working with athletes and active individuals. My specialties include human performance, sports & tactical nutrition, health promotion, disease prevention, body composition management, as well as functional and lifestyle nutrition. I am presently a Performance Dietitian for The Intrepid Spirit Center at A.T Augusta Medical Center at Fort Belvoir, proving Functional and Lifestyle Nutrition to active service members. I previously served for 10 years/seasons as the Sports Dietitian for George Mason's Center for Sports Performance, servicing over 500 Division I athletes. I am a member of the adjunct faculty teaching in the College of Education and Human Development. I also serve as a Senior Fellow for the Center for the Advancement of Wellbeing, an interdisciplinary research and teaching center at George Mason University dedicated to catalyzing human well-being. I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and also hold a specialty 140 hour Trauma Senstive YogaFit Warriors certification. I love teaching Mind body movement (Yoga, Pilates and Barre) to people of all ages and use a trauma informed approach to ensure a safe space for all participants.
