About Deb Brisson

I am an experienced geologist that has built a successful career working Western Canada. I have an extensive background in clastic and carbonate conventional and unconventional reservoirs, with a proven track record of finding and commercializing oil and gas opportunities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia. My successes have been to personally propose and drill over 200 horizontal and vertical wells which have produced over 2MMBO and 1.6 BCF. I was responsible for identifying a Lower Shaunavon unconventional oil prospect in Saskatchewan that became a new core asset for Cenovus. I was the senior staff geologist for Business Development at Heritage Royalty, focused on optimizing the value of Fee lands by marketing new emerging and existing plays and drillable prospects for 3rd party investment in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. I was the Technical Lead for Business Development Technical Evaluations and Technical Lead for New Ventures, Conventional Oil and Gas at Cenovus. My responsibilities evolved to include mentoring and supervisory roles, with 6 years experience as a supervisor and technical lead for geoscience professionals and 8 years as a mentor, 3 years as a mentoring volunteer for APEGA. Currently I am working for the Orphan Well Association and have been since August 2016. I provide geological evaluations for well bore abandonments for risk assessment and identification of porous zone isolations in compliance with AER Directive 020.
