Hello, let me introduce myself. I am an Illinois Hospice RN. I am currently employed by Vitas Healthcare and I work as a Weekend On Call RN based in LaSalle, IL. I cover a service territory from Morris, IL to Moline, IL, and from I-80 to Hwy 30. It is a massive service territory and includes the towns of Ottawa, Princeton, Sterling, Dixon, Sandwich and Shabona. It is not uncommon to cover 500 miles on a typical weekend due to the immense size of the territory. As much as I enjoy this position, I sometimes wish that it was just straight after hours weekend on-call, instead of being an extension of the Admissions Dept. While admissions are critical to the success of any hospice organization, I am not seeking to be an admissions RN. I am interested in working weekend on-call in this territory. Alternatively, I would consider a weekend on-call position in Southern Cook, Will or Grundy County Skills include:*Proven analytical and problem solving skills *Use of PPS scale and FAST scale in evaluating hospice patients *Proficient at symptom management in hospice patients (including pain, agitation, constipation and urinary retention)* Calm *Active Listening *Cultural Diversity Goals for 2022 1) Earn my CHPN How I plan to achieve my 2022 goals: 1) Better time management. Life is short. Better time management means making time for my family and myself while continuing to work as a Hospice RN, It's all about balance. Life is too short not to fully enjoy what you do. 2) CHPN.(Certification for Hospice and Palliative Nursing) Ideally I hope to secure this certification before the end of the first quarter of 2022.
