Deborah Jelin Newmyer is a film and television producer, who worked at Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment for 12 years. Newmyer developed films such as The Color Purple, Jurassic Park and Schindler's List, The Bridges of Madison County as well as the Amblin TV series Amazing Stories and ER. Also for Amblin, Deb produced American Tale, The Land Before Time, Little Rascals and How to Make an American Quilt. In 2006, Newmyer inherited from her late husband, Bobby Newmyer, Outlaw Productions, and currently is an independent producer and is credited with: • The Ugly Truth; romantic comedy with Katherine Heigl & Gerard Butler. • the sing-off; an Acapella reality show, completing its 5th Season, December 2014 • Love For Sail; a dating show set on Norwegian Cruise Line for Lifetime. • The Good Lie; Exec Producer of feature film about Lost Boys of Sudan starring Reese Witherspoon. Warner Bros. & Alcon Productions released October 2014. Additionally, for the last decade, Newmyer has been involved with the Seeds of Peace Foundation – an international organization whose mission is to empower teenagers of conflict regions (primarily in the Middle East) co-exist as sustainable neighbors. Taking over for her late husband, Newmyer spearheaded the creation of the National Network for the Lost Boys and Girls of Sudan. The group’s mission is to bring unity and a political voice to the Sudanese refugees scattered across America. In 2017, Newmyer authored 'Moms for Hire: 8 Steps to Kickstart your Next Career'; a stylish, upbeat guidebook for woman who want to amp up their professional ambition and still raise thoughtful children. Since then Newmyer has been speaking and coaching women back into engaged employment.and tirelessly advocating for active Returnships across Hollywood's media industry. Newmyer lives in Los Angeles, single-parenting four children ages 31 to 16. Her interest in politics is personal; her passion for family is global.
