About Deb Plummer

Hi everyone! I am a 30-year veteran educator who teaches at the high school, community college, and college levels simultaneously! But don't let that fool you. I am truly looking to spread my wings and seek new career opportunities and experiences. Don't let my resume fool you at first glance. I may look like a straightforward teacher and academician, but I have the skills and job drive that almost all employers want. I am an excellent communicator who constantly stays on top of emails from parents, students, and administrators from three different schools (Lakeland High School, Paul D. Camp Community College, and Old Dominion University), my writing and verbal skills are top-notch, and I multitask on a daily/hourly/minute-by-minute basis as a classroom teacher and employee. I have experience training fellow employees and arranging domestic travel for colleagues and study-abroad trips for students. My computer skills are strong with Google and Microsoft programs and products. I am well-versed in Learning Management Platforms like Canvas, Blackboard, Edmodo, Google, and others for training purposes. In my life before education, I was a manager for the retail off-campus bookstore for Old Dominion University, Anderson Brothers, where I was trained in all facets of used and new book sales, retail merchandise purchasing, employee management, and daily store operations. While I know most everything has changed, what has not is my drive to succeed in my next career adventure. I can truly say I am proud of my service to education, my students, and my schools. Now, I hope to find a new job opportunity that will be an adventure I look forward to every day. I look forward to hearing from you soon, Deb Plummer
