About Deb Ruff Rasmussen

I am the proud owner of Rasmussen Law, PLLC. Before entering the legal field, I was an entrepreneur for 15 years in the personal publishing and scanning business where I helped people capture their life stories. I then worked as a Real Estate and Estate Planning paralegal. It was my work as a paralegal that sparked my passion for estate planning. After law school, I clerked for Chief Judge Donna Stroud of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and then worked as an associate attorney at Stam Law Firm in Apex. I know what causes estate plans to fail (even expensive ones with pretty binders) and my estate planning practice is intentionally designed to ensure that your estate plan works, keeping your family out of court and out of conflict. I also know that family wealth is much more than your real estate, business assets, or personal property; it is also your family values, pictures, and stories. When you work with me, you will be prepared, protected, and remembered. I graduated in Linguistics from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with minors in Chinese and Japanese, and from Campbell Law School in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am a member of the North Carolina and Wake County Bar Associations and the J. Reuben Clark Legal Society. I live with my husband, Lars, in North Carolina and we are the proud parents of four children. I enjoy people, swimming, Asian food, karaoke, and AI.
