Eye-tracking | Programming | Data analytics | Systems Neuroscience | Decision-making | Bio-signals I was in 9th grade when I shifted allegiance from seismology to biology."How does the brain work?""Can we get a hold on the inner functioning of the mind?" These questions fascinated me and propelled me to pursue my Bachelor's in Physiology. I shifted gears a bit and got my Master's in Genetics. During my summer project, my mentor told me about the newly opened Centre for Neuroscience (CNS) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. I made a straight beeline for CNS, IISc and enrolled with the first batch of students for the doctoral program in Neuroscience. Since then, I have spent a wonderful 14 years learning about how brain activity is orchestrated to bring about overt behavior. I have looked at brain activity at different scales - from single brain cells during my PhD, to whole brain scans during my previous postdoc at Brown University, RI, US. In my current role as an Early Career Scientist at IIT Bombay, I am using eye movement sequences and EEG (electroencephalography) to understand how our brains process visual sequences. I enjoy literature landscaping, data exploration & analysis, and am passionate about effective science communication.
